High-Temperature Performance Spotlight
PA66 has long been the workhorse of underhood automotive and hot-side industrial design — but not all PA66 GF30 grades survive real-world 180°C+ environments. Our PA66-BFE04 and ETF-HT grades use a proprietary copper-salt + hindered-amine synergistic heat stabilizer package that preserves tensile and impact strength after thousands of hours at continuous operating temperatures where competing economy PA66 grades start to embrittle and crack.

Automotive Underhood Case Study — Thermostat Housing Cracking
Background: A North American Tier-1 was seeing 3.1% field creep-cracking failure on a glass-filled thermostat housing operating at 175–190°C peak with a competing standard PA66 GF30.
Switch: Material changed to Juhai PA66-BFE04 with advanced heat stabilizer and higher fiber wet-out. Same tool, same molding parameters.
Result: After 12 months / 140,000 km accelerated fleet validation and 8 production lots → 0 failures, 97% HDT retention vs. initial spec, tensile Cpk 1.42. Now sole-source for the platform.

Processing & Handling Guidelines
Injection Molding Parameters
| Process Parameter | Recommended Range (PA66 GF30) | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Pre-Drying | 90 °C × 4 hours; to < 0.05% moisture | Dehumidifying dryer mandatory (−40°C dew point). PA66 hydrolyzes faster than PA6 if wet. |
| Barrel Temp — Rear / Middle / Front | 260 °C / 280 °C / 295 °C | Avoid front-zone overshoot beyond 305°C to prevent diamine depolymerization / blistering. |
| Nozzle Temperature | 285 - 295 °C | Match front zone; open nozzle preferred for PA66 to prevent freeze-off. |
| Mold Temperature | 80 - 110 °C | 100°C recommended for HDT critical parts; improves GF impregnation and surface. |
| Injection Pressure | 90 - 150 MPa | Thin-wall / long-flow connectors may need 140 MPa+ with fast first-stage fill. |
| Holding Pressure | 55 - 80% of injection pressure | Hold time 15–30 s per mm wall thickness to control sink on rib bosses. |
| Screw Back-Pressure | 8 - 15 bar | Higher than PA6 — PA66 benefits from extra mixing shear on GF wet-out. |
| Screw Speed (RPM) | 60 - 120 rpm | Moderate-to-low to minimize shear-induced GF breakage and black specks. |
Storage & Shelf Life
- Store in original sealed aluminum-moisture-barrier bags below 30°C and below 65% RH (PA66 is significantly more hygroscopic than PA6 in the same ambient).
- Keep away from direct sunlight, steam pipes and any source of ambient moisture.
- Shelf life under sealed proper conditions: 18 months from manufacturing date printed on bag label. After 18 months re-test MVR and moisture before use.
- Once a bag is opened, process within 72 hours or re-seal with desiccant and re-dry before next production run.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Juhai PA66-BFE04 is formulated to directly match DuPont Zytel 70G30HSLR and BASF Ultramid A3EG6 type 30% GF heat-stabilized PA66 performance envelopes. Typical property match is within ±5% on tensile, modulus, HDT and impact against data sheet center values — sufficient for drop-in testing on most non-safety parts. Send us your current grade spec and our engineers will provide a full side-by-side comparison table plus 2 kg free sample for your own molding trial. For UL Yellow Card listed equivalents, we can supply third-party tested documentation.
Yes. PA66-FR25 (25% GF, halogen-free flame retardant PA66) is formulated to pass UL94 V-0 at 0.8 mm minimum wall thickness on standard test bars with no drips. We supply an in-house UL94 test report and photos free with your initial sample request. Our parent-line UL file (UL Yellow Card) is in progress and scheduled for Q4 2026 issuance — interim third-party lab reports (SGS / CTI) are available now and accepted by most Tier-2 and consumer-electronics OEMs for program qualification.
Yes. For new project qualification and prototype molding we offer three lower-volume options: (a) Free 2 kg lab sample (freight collect via DHL/FedEx for international). (b) 25 kg single-bag paid sample for short-run tool tryout (~$125–150/ bag depending on grade). (c) 100–500 kg trial lots broken from stock production (5–10% per kg premium over 1T+ price). All small lots ship with the same full CoC and compliance paperwork as production orders. Contact sales for exact trial pricing.
Absolutely. Every shipment includes a full traceable data pack: (1) Certificate of Conformance (CoC / batch Test Report) listing the actual tested results for that production lot — tensile, modulus, HDT, MVR, density, moisture vs. your purchase spec. (2) RoHS 2.0 + REACH + ELV + PAHs multi-standard Declaration of Conformity (DoC). (3) Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS / SDS) current version. (4) Commercial Invoice, Packing List, BL/AWB and Certificate of Origin. (5) Optional on request: UL94, CTI, IATF-process letter, VDA 278 VOC test data, FDA food-contact or ISO 10993 biocomp reports for specific grades.
